Skin contact for 10 to 12 hours and whole-cluster pressing ensure gentle extraction of aromas and a beautiful expression of the fruit. Fermentation in temperature-controlled barrels at 16–20°C helps preserve the wine’s freshness. Nine months of aging in 4- to 5-year-old barrels imparts a harmonious structure and subtle complexity, while respecting the essence of the grape variety.

Our Review of the Cuvée

On the nose, enticing notes of ripe fruit unfold, subtly enhanced by floral hints. On the palate, the texture is velvety, offering a beautiful balance between finesse and fullness. The elegant structure is supported by skillful barrel aging, which adds an extra dimension and a lingering finish. This is a precise and refined wine, ideal for pairing with elaborate dishes, or simply to be enjoyed for its pure and accomplished expression.

Domaine Barou

Domaine Barou

Rhône Valley | France

In the hills of Ardèche, Domaine Barou has been cultivating its vines organically for many years. Located in the immediate vicinity of the Saint-Joseph appellation, the estate primarily works with Syrah in a more elongated and supple style than typically found on neighboring slopes.

Ripeness levels are deliberately contained to preserve fruit freshness and structural balance. The reds are built on polished tannins and a clear expression of fruit, without seeking excessive power. The estate also produces precise and balanced white wines, adhering to the same philosophy of clarity.

All the cuvées are distinguished by great coherence and a serene style, faithful to a measured interpretation of the Northern Rhône. These are straightforward and accessible wines, crafted without excess and designed for a fluid tasting experience.
