This wine, currently in the process of converting to organic farming, showcases winemaking expertise focused on the pure expression of the terroir. Its deep garnet color conceals a supple, velvety texture, offering a spectrum of flavors ranging from black fruits to spices. The limestone character of the soil translates into a mineral tension that gives structure to the wine, while the lingering finish magnifies the fruit’s intensity and its persistent freshness, leaving a chalky and spicy impression.

Our Review of the Cuvée

At first glance, this wine reveals a garnet color with purple highlights, promising a rich and complex tasting experience. On the nose, it stands out with aromas of black fruit cream, combined with hints of plum, cocoa, and spices, enhanced by a subtle touch of menthol. On the palate, the sensation is round and full-bodied, even enveloping, revealing a luscious and velvety texture. The fruit, expressive and refined, is accompanied by a minerality that highlights the presence of limestone, making each sip both vigorous and fresh. The lingering finish intensifies the spicy and cocoa notes, while leaving a pleasant chalky aftertaste that invites another sip.

Cosse et Maisonneuve

Bordeaux | France

Cahors, yes, but in a refined, vertical expression, where Malbec never aims for excessive richness. Catherine Maisonneuve and Mathieu Cosse have instilled a new approach: less extraction, more dynamism, and meticulously controlled aging processes. The wines exhibit a tight grain and a linearity that characterize great modern Cahors. In short: remarkable purity.
