Vitkikultur Moser

Zweigelt Hedwighof 2022

Sans Appellation | Rouge | 2022

This biodynamically grown Zweigelt offers a unique experience thanks to its meticulous winemaking process. After destemming and crushing, it ferments spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, thereby preserving the purity of the fruit. Six months of aging in stainless steel tanks refines its velvety texture and reveals its distinctive character. This wine benefits from excellent resistance to oxidation, which makes decanting recommended to release its captivating aromas and dispel the slight residual carbonation.

Our Review of the Cuvée

On the nose, this Zweigelt immediately captivates with a vibrant bouquet of black cherries—a true ode to intense fruit. On the palate, the texture is lush, almost creamy, with a velvety smoothness that exceeds our usual standards. The humus-rich soils contribute to this generous aromatic expression. Decant it to enhance its aromas and enjoy a complete tasting experience. Its ability to age well makes it ideal for a deeper exploration of its qualities, day after day.

Vitkikultur Moser

Lower Austria | Austria

In Austria, the Vitikultur Moser estate is managed by the Moser family on the slopes of Kremstal. The vineyard is cultivated organically, with a focus on mastering natural balances and ensuring varietal clarity.

The Grüner Veltliners and Rieslings are vinified in a deliberately understated style, aiming for direct and precise profiles. Tension serves as a guiding principle, supported by refined fruit and a clear expression of the terroirs. Maturities are carefully controlled to preserve freshness and aromatic clarity.

Aging is primarily conducted in tanks or large oak casks (foudres), allowing for slow evolution without imprinting the wines. This approach promotes a faithful interpretation of the grape variety and vintage, free from artifice or over-extraction.

These wines are characterized by their clarity of expression, palate persistence, and overall consistency, offering a rigorous and clear interpretation of Kremstal's white wines.
