Les Graves 2023

Mâcon-Serrières | Rouge | 2023

This red wine from the Mâcon-Serrières appellation is made from the Gamay grape variety. The 40-year-old vines grow on granite soil and benefit from optimal conditions thanks to their south-southeast exposure. Vinification involves vatting whole clusters, followed by a 15-day semi-carbonic maceration, then aging on the lees in old oak barrels for 10 months. The entire process accentuates the intense and varied red fruit aromas, while preserving a fine, velvety texture.

Our Review of the Cuvée

On the nose, the wine unfolds a beautiful array of aromas of candied red fruits and wilted flowers, with a subtle hint of precious wood and spices. On the palate, it is light and airy, offering a delicate freshness and a refined texture that caresses the palate. Notes of cherry and faded rose emerge, accompanied by a hint of tobacco. The finish is savory, concentrated just enough to never seem harsh, making every sip as enjoyable as the last.

Domaine Tripoz

Domaine Tripoz

Burgundy | France

In the Mâconnais region, Domaine Tripoz cultivates its vineyard biodynamically, on clay-limestone soils characteristic of the sub-region. The viticultural practices aim for natural balance and optimal ripeness, in order to preserve the distinctiveness of the grape varieties and terroirs.

Chardonnays form the core of the production. They exhibit broad and structured profiles, supported by consistent tension that provides balance and length. The aging processes are meticulously managed, alternating between vats and barrels depending on the cuvées, with the aim of nurturing the wine's substance without over-complicating its expression.

Pinot Noirs, produced in smaller quantities, offer wines with clear fruit and a fluid texture, prioritizing suppleness and drinkability. The entire range of cuvées is characterized by remarkable overall consistency, featuring precise, balanced, and expressive wines that are true to the Mâconnais identity.
