Campagnès 2021

Corbières | Rouge | 2021

Perched at an altitude of 200 meters and spread across the diverse schist and clay-limestone soils of the Hautes-Corbières, the estate benefits from entirely manual, environmentally friendly viticulture. Whole-cluster fermentation using native yeasts takes place at low temperatures without the addition of sulfur. The juices rest in large oak vats before being gently aged in old barrels, ensuring an authentic wine with a pure and intense profile.

Our Review of the Cuvée

Campagnès’s color is distinguished by a deep garnet hue that invites you to dive into a world of candied red fruits, accented with a hint of spice. Upon aeration, minty aromas lend a fresh touch to the bouquet. On the palate, the wine unfolds with great roundness and a velvety texture, revealing lively and pure fruit flavors, enhanced by citrus zest and a subtle spicy note. The finish is dynamic, lingering with an explosion of fruit and citrus aromas that stimulate the senses.

Languedoc | France

Originally from Burgundy, Maxime Magnon settled in 2002 in the wild and rugged landscape of the Hautes Corbières, south of Corbières. There, between Villeneuve-les-Corbières, Durban, and Cascastel, he has made a forgotten terroir his own, breathing new life into ancient plots of century-old vines and establishing himself as one of the most exciting figures in the Languedoc’s renaissance.

The estate now covers some fifteen hectares planted on high-altitude soilscomposed of clay, schist, and limestone, which lend the grapes depth, finesse, and minerality. The vineyards are managed with a deep respect for life: certified organic farming, manual work in the plots, and even the integration of animals (sheep, cows) that graze in the winter to naturally enrich the microbial life of the soil.
