Domaine Le Jonc Blanc

Pure M 2019

Vin de France | Rouge | 2019

This wine stands out for its natural winemaking process, which uses only indigenous yeasts and no oenological additives. Thanks to gentle extraction through manual punching down and extended aging in oak casks, it reveals a unique balance. The absence of traditional stabilization allows for a pure expression of the limestone terroir, which enriches its texture and refines its tannins without compromising its fruity character.

Our Review of the Cuvée

From the very first whiff, this wine unfolds intense aromas of red and black fruits, reflecting the richness that Malbec brings to its limestone terroir. On the palate, the wine is both concentrated and elegant, developing a silky texture thanks to aging in large oak casks. The tannins are present but perfectly integrated, providing a beautiful structure without overpowering the fruit. The mineral notes, typical of limestone soils, bring remarkable freshness and tension that linger on the palate. A sensory experience that will appeal to lovers of authentic wines, a faithful reflection of its natural environment.

At Jonc Blanc, Isabelle Carles and Franck Pascal have opted for demanding viticultural practices, close to biodynamics, to produce honest, structured, and at times intriguing wines. The estate works with a variety of grape types, including Sauvignon, Sémillon, Merlot, and Cabernet, primarily seeking to express the unique character of the site. The cuvées often exhibit a distinct profile, a dense texture, and a refreshing vitality. Cellar work remains minimally interventionist, which imparts a singular, highly recognizable personality to the wines.
