Discover in video the Alpes de Haute Provence : Along the Durance river (2/3)

After her escapade around Pierrevert in the heart of the Alpes de Haute Provence region, Laetitia Allemand brings us today in a different region for these moments Alpes Haute de Provence.

We will first make a tour on the banks of the Durance. Are you ready? Let's go!

Along the Durance

Welcome to the banks of the Durance. Laetitia takes us today on the banks of the impetuous river for a moment Alpes de Haute Provence full of character!

Right bank: the castle Saint Jean, its bastide and its airs of Provence ... Rich left bank, perched on a promontory: the castle Rousset, its majestic towers and its imposing building ... We are a few kilometers from the charming little town Manosque. Here the vineyard is next to the olive tree and the truffle oak... Landscapes dear to Jean Giono! The writer particularly appreciated the wines of the region and sometimes took the pen to say how happy he was to taste them.

While whites and reds are produced within the AOP Pierrevert and the IGP Alpes de Haute-Provence, rosés remain the spearhead of these 2 appellations and represent an important part of their production. The altitude at which the vines grow and the high temperature ranges to which they are subjected give these fruity rosés a beautiful liveliness.

You will enjoy them chilled but not iced, to accompany a Sisteron lamb. She personally advises us to pair them with iodized flavours, a seafood platter or a fish terrine.
