Domaine Cazes
John wine 2024
Côtes du Roussillon villages | Rouge | 2024
This wine is a harmonious blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, grown on a unique clay-limestone terroir enriched with schist and pebbles. Careful winemaking, including early morning harvests and controlled fermentation, preserves the purity of the aromas and the complexity of the grape varieties. Minimal aging ensures a clear and deep expression of the fruit, while the absence of added sulfites underscores the authenticity of the process.
"John Wine, a lone rider, traveled for miles along Route 66 in the Wild Wild Roussillon, braving storms in search of a sulfur-free wine. It was in the Catalan valleys of the Agly, at Domaine Cazes, that he completed his quest."

Our Review of the Cuvée
From the very first glance, the deep purple color catches the eye. On the nose, rich aromas of black fruit cream mingle with notes of warm bread and spices, hinting at a promising richness. On the palate, the wine’s roundness and fullness envelop the mouth, revealing a delicately velvety texture. The ripe fruitiness, accentuated by smoky notes, comes through fully. On the finish, the savory mouthfeel reveals hints of bay leaf, cocoa, and black cherry, perfect for enhancing a rib of beef or a grilled bison steak.
