Our opinion on the vintage

As soon as this wine is poured, its deep, translucent purple color immediately catches the eye, a prelude to a tasting experience rich in discoveries. On the nose, subtle aromas of peony, violet, and small black fruits like elderberry unfold with a delicate hint of incense and spices such as pepper and cinnamon. On the palate, the experience is both round and juicy, with a velvety texture and a liveliness brought by a light effervescence that pleasantly tickles the tongue. The finish charms with fruity flavors, accompanied by a tangy freshness reminiscent of the fruity candies of our childhood, all enveloped in a cascade of spices already present on the nose.

Domaine Les Grandes Vignes

Domaine Les Grandes Vignes

Loire | France

In Anjou, the Vaillant family has been running Domaine Les Grandes Vignes biodynamically for many years. The vineyard is mainly planted with Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, emblematic grape varieties of the region, cultivated with constant attention to soil balance and vine vitality.

The plots surrounding Thouarcé present varied profiles, which the estate interprets through precise winemaking, sometimes without the addition of sulfur. The white wines develop a natural character and measured tension, where the fruit retains a restrained and legible expression. The reds favor supple structures and a fluid texture, resulting from controlled extraction.

The winemaking process is carried out with restraint, aiming to preserve the direct expression of the terroir and the clarity of the wines' profiles. The estate's work as a whole is distinguished by great consistency, producing wines faithful to their origin and consistent in their expression across vintages.
