The domain is rooted on about twenty hectares, between Ville sur Arce and Essoyes, in the middle of the Côte des Bar. With a total of 72%, the Pinot Noir represents a majority of the vineyard, the Chardonnay reaches 20%, the Meunier 1.5%. The rare and ancient grape varieties (Arbanne, Petit Meslier, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris) total 6.5% of the terroir.

The vines, on average 28 years old, are exposed to the South, South-East, at an altitude of about 250 meters, and slopes up to 44.
The parcels of the estate being by nature very diversified, each vineyard develops its own characteristics. The soils are rich in clay on well-drained subsoils. There are 3 main types of soil: hard Jurassic clay-limestone, marly limestone and more commonly the "Kimmeridgian", recognized as the source of the greatest sparkling wines. It is found on many of our hillsides, constituting the inimitable matrix of the great wines of Champagne Daniel Pétré & Fils.

Our story

"The experience of our cultivation practices leads to promote a viticulture of excellence. Our estate works in favor of a more authentic taste, taking care to endure a craft production of High Environmental Value (HVE) level 3 and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (VDC) since 2016. This rigorous approach frames all our practices and contributes to the development of our domain and the health of consumers.

Our ambition is to extract the best from the grapes by making quality wines with exceptional flavors. The traditional methods (working the soil, mowing, sowing plant cover, summer pruning, spreading manure...) give rhythm to the daily life of the house. The desire to respect the environment and human health is reflected in all our actions.

Other little stories

They are called Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Arbanne and Petit Meslier, they are grown on "Sur Mont Coppé" Monopole in Ville-sur-Arce in Côte des Bar. This vineyard has been in our family for many generations. The forgotten grape varieties are old grape varieties that were once traditionally cultivated and today represent 0.003% of the Champagne Appellation. These grape varieties offer us an exceptional panel of wine making with splendid aromas.
