Anecdotes about the domain

Germain Bernard, following in the footsteps of his father Jean, respects the tradition and know-how of which he is the heir, and makes quality wines exclusively from his own vines. The château Louis XIV, where the estate is located, is typical of the region with its Mâcon gallery overlooking the century-old park.

The domain's short story

The Bernard wine estate has been a family property since 1803. It is thanks to its geographical proximity to the capital that the vineyards were developed in the Mâconnais. The wines were transported by river to Paris. It is since 1768, with the arrival of Jean Bernard, that the members of the Bernard family succeed one another. Today, it is Germain BERNARD, who took over the estate after his father Jean.

The winemaker's pride

Domaine Bernard is located in Leynes, in the extreme south of Burgundy. We produce mainly white wines, especially Saint-Véran, and we have a red wine Vieilles Vignes from the oldest vines of the domain. All of our wines are produced using sustainable viticulture: limiting treatments to a minimum, and progressively replanting the vines to avoid soil erosion and facilitate irrigation.
