A wine-growing estate in the heart of Anjou, which extends from the slopes of Layon to the banks of the Loire, makes it a geological treasure. Our estate promotes the expression and typicity of our terroirs in the wines, in order to highlight their diversity. A domain that is very respectful of nature, thanks to the methods of researchers, this domain seeks the best condition to give its wines the expression of the typical character of the terroirs.

This is why, since the 1990s, the vineyard has been grassed and allows biodiversity to act on the soil. The philosophy of this estate is reflected in the way they make wine, the aim being to intervene as little as possible.

This diversity and typicality of the terroirs is highlighted thanks to the king grape variety, Chenin. The estate does everything possible to express one of the main qualities of this grape variety, the expression of the terroir.

Our story

Castle acquired in 1959, previous generations started with the original 9 ha acquired with the Castle. They have been able to expand the estate by integrating appellations such as Chaume and Quarts-de-Chaume. In 1992, the estate underwent a new acquisition that allowed them to be called Savennières. After the arrival of the new generation in 2001, the vineyard now covers an area of 50 ha. A beautiful evolution through time.

The greatest pride of Château Pierre-Bise is to be able to express the diversity of their terroirs through their wines.

Other little stories

If you walk in winter through the plots of this Castle, you will be likely to meet sheep. The latter being hired for winter mowing.

We follow a Japanese theory from Masanobu Fukuoka that allows biodiversity to regulate itself. Man's work then consists in "shaping the landscape" rather than seeking to control or modify it.
