Come and discover an exceptional wine panorama on the slopes of Mont Brouilly. The 6 hectares of vineyard in Côte de Brouilly, in Odenas, are planted exclusively with Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc. The property is Terra Vitis certified in order to preserve the balance with the surrounding biodiversity. The farm is located on a steep slope, some of them can be more than 30%. Some consider it a heroic vineyard. Mont Brouilly is part of the Geopark Beaujolais, which is very rich in geological diversity. Here the vines have two types of subsoil: primary era schists for four hectares, oriented to the east and south, which give the structured structure of the wine; and a granitic arena for about one hectare, southwest, which brings freshness and fruit.
Jean-François Pegaz, 5th generation, has been taking up the torch since 2013. It was for him a unique opportunity to awaken a sleeping estate, for several decades having at the time an economy mainly oriented towards selling to the Beaujolais trader. "After working in many countries such as Australia, New Zealand and Chile, I return to my native region to live my passion on the steep slopes of Mont Brouilly, and restore a unique terroir!"
The estate has the particularity of having a stone amphitheatre in the heart of its vineyard, with a magnificent view over the Saone valley. Every summer, a festival is organised to enjoy a few notes of jazz, accompanied by pretty bottles of the estate's wines.
