Clos des Cordeliers and its 22 hectare vineyard are located in the heart of the PDO Saumur-Champigny. Here, wine is above all a family affair. For 4 generations, the RATRON family has been involved in the desire to promote its emblematic grape variety, Cabernet Franc, and every day, Marie-Françoise RATRON is committed to enhancing the expression of this terroir through sustainable vineyard management. The diversity of the soil, composed of tuffeau or Champigny stone, allows the production of the estate's two flagship vintages, Prestige and Tradition, with distinct aromatic qualities and richness.

Our story

A historic vineyard recognized in Saumur-Champigny, Clos des Cordeliers was created by Franciscan monks and then alienated by the French State during the Revolution. Passionate about this history, the RATRON family bought this estate in 1932. Four generations later, it is now Marie-Françoise who is committed to preserving the heritage entrusted to her. "We are invested daily in culture, production, research and the desire to make you taste a real Saumur-Champigny". Assiduity, know-how and love of the profession allow Marie-Françoise RATRON to perpetuate and modernize this reputation.
