Anecdotes about the domain
It is with meticulous work in the vineyard and in the cellar that the Thierry Drouin estate shapes the earth and the grapes to bring out the best of its terroir. The great vintages of Pouilly-Fuissé are harvested entirely by hand. The domain offers structured and very pleasant wines in their first youth, so Charles and Thierry Drouin continue to work every day to improve the quality to offer you always better wines. Thierry and Charles sign authentic and greedy vintages for your greatest pleasure. Thanks to the knowledge and experience developed over the years of work, the wines of the domain do not lack either roundness or smoothness. Its quality constitution is the fruit of the secret that the winegrowers of Burgundy have. Such a precious asset that they are right to keep to themselves! Nevertheless, the main thing is that Thierry and Charles share with you their vintages in order to give you rare and distinguished sensations.
The domain's short story
The Thierry Drouin estate is located in the heart of the great Pouilly-Fuissé site, between the rocks of Vergisson and Solutré-Pouilly, in the south of Burgundy. The estate was entirely created in 1984 by Thierry Drouin and cultivates vines on 11 hectares mainly in the commune of Vergisson but also in Bussières and Davayé. In 2012, his son Charles joined him in the domain after his studies.
The winemaker's pride
The Domaine is located a few kilometers west of Mâcon. It is here that Thierry, the winemaker, vinifies and matures in oak barrels the three appellations Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Mâcon in appellation d'origine contrôlée, Grands crus de Bourgogne. The estate offers a wide range of plots and climates, where Chardonnay expresses itself superbly well, on clay-limestone soils giving rich and varied wines. The oldest vines date from 1947.
