The Brotte Family is the story of 5 generations of Châteauneuf-du-Pape with a winegrower spirit. The expertise of the House, founded in 1931, is dedicated to the great terroirs of the Rhône Valley, crus, villages and Côtes du Rhône. The family estates extend over Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cairanne and Laudun for a total area of 90 hectares. The 3 generations at the helm at the moment devote their know-how to the creation of elegant and authentic wines, with a wide range of seductive connoisseurs and amateurs alike. The quality of Brotte wines is in the spotlight, rewarded with beautiful notes from expert American, English and French tasters...
In 1972, Jeanne Brotte, grandmother of Laurent Brotte, current owner and manager of the Maison BROTTE, created the Wine Museum, originally a museum of old winemaker's tools. It collects these from the oldest winegrowers in the region, a 4000-litre lightning bolt from the 14th century, a 16th century wine press ... She is passionate about food and wine. She then ran the restaurant La Mule du Pape in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Jeanne Brotte is a pioneer of wine tourism ...In 2002, under the impetus of Laurent Brotte, who is keen to share his passion for wine with the general public, the Museum was enlarged and acquired a complete educational dimension by revealing the making of wine through photos and texts. In 2014, the Wine Museum is renovated and takes on its current contemporary form.
Laurent is sometimes described as a "globetrotting company manager". Today, it is all together at the estate and in a good mood that we make our wines. Thibault and Benoit, the sons of Laurent and Christine, have now joined the House and can count on Cyril Tisopulot, the oenologist of the house who has been present for 15 vintages!
