The Laurent Habrard Estate

A love story that begins in the vineyards… About thirty kilometers south of Lyon, follow the Rhône River and you’ll find, nestled against the foothills of the Massif Central, an exceptional vineyard located in the heart of the prestigious Côtes du Rhône Septentrionales region: the Laurent Habrard estate!

A true family affair, this estate in the Northern Côtes du Rhône is known for its fine wines and prestigious appellations. But do you know this vineyard’s little secret? No. We’re going to let you in on a little secret…

First of all, it’s important to know that Marie-Thérèse and Marcel, Laurent Habrard’s parents, continue to support the estate’s operations to this day. Their unwavering support is a testament to their love for their land and their passion for their wines. This passion is far from new; it was born, as if by magic, from a chance encounter in the heart of the estate’s vineyards. In 1965, Marie-Thérèse, looking to earn a little extra money, came to work the harvest at the Habrard estate. Between picking grapes, she met Marcel, one of the estate’s five sons. It was love at first sight! Together, they had four children who would later take over the management of the estate.

Wines with prestigious organic certifications and high environmental value.

The Laurent Habrard estate practices environmentally friendly winemaking. Committed to preserving its land, the estate adheres to the standards of various eco-labels. As a result, the estate offers wines bearing the prestigious BIO, Nature, and High Environmental Value certifications.

Respect for the environment, but also respect for the wine. For Laurent Habrard, wines must push the boundaries. The vineyard spans 15 hectares and is divided into three appellations: Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Hermitage. But he refuses to rest on the laurels of these appellations. That’s not the estate’s philosophy. As a result, the estate has implemented a sulfite-free winemaking method for its red wines. The goal? To preserve all the natural flavors and the authentic taste of the terroir.

Laurent has released a range of wines that capture what he believes to be the essence of the estate. Here is a small selection of his wines:

-2020 Grand Classique Blanc: This 100% Marsanne white wine boasts an expressive bouquet. It features fruity notes with citrus aromas, particularly lemon and grapefruit. On the palate, this Crozes-Hermitage is generous, refined, and full-bodied.

-Kevin Red 2017: This beautiful 2017 vintage boasts a deep black color with ruby-red highlights. You’ll be surprised by its powerful and expressive nose. Aromas of violets, spices, and toasted bread will tantalize your senses. On the palate, you’ll find smoky notes and velvety tannins

-2020 Grand Classique Red: This wine is a true delight. Pour yourself a glass and take a look. A garnet color with violet hues. Next, the nose: notes of cherry and fresh fig, complemented by floral notes and a hint of spice. Finally, let’s move on to the palate. Powerful and rich, with a lovely roundness! It’s a wine designed to be enjoyed by everyone!
