Château Guilhem

Chardonnay 2025

Pays d'Oc | White | 2025

Château Guilhem, a family estate since 1878, cultivates its 35 hectares of vines using organic farming methods, nestled against the Malepère massif, earning it the nickname 'the other Languedoc'. The Atlantic grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet and Malbec) benefit from the friable soil of the Malepère, which ensures a lovely freshness to the wines. A wine of pleasure, perfectly expressing the typicity of the grape variety, born from an exciting family history and a unique terroir.

Our opinion on the vintage

This authentic Chardonnay captivates with its pale yellow hue and typical nose of white flowers and white fruit aromas, with a touch of the exotic. On the palate, its power and richness reveal flavors of ripe white fruit, finishing with a subtle freshness and hints of toasted brioche. Ideal for pairing with grilled river fish or white meats, this wine is sure to delight lovers of classic Chardonnay.

Château Guilhem

Languedoc | France

Located in Malviès, between Limoux and Carcassonne, Château Guilhem has been a family estate since 1878, now run by the fifth generation. The estate covers approximately 35 hectares of vines, cultivated organically, grouped around the property and backing onto the Malepère massif, in western Languedoc.

This area stands out from the rest of the region due to its cooler climate, influenced by its proximity to the Pyrenees. This distinctive characteristic is reflected in the estate's grape varieties, deliberately chosen for their Atlantic influence: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. This selection gives the wines a unique profile within the Languedoc landscape, often referred to as "the other Languedoc," where freshness and structure take precedence over intense sunlight.

Soils play a central role in the balance of wines. The Malepère massif takes its name from a friable rock, unsuitable for construction but particularly well-suited to vines. These soils retain water ... Lire plus
