La Garrelière

Le Rouge des Cornus 2020

Val De Loire | Rouge | 2020

Located in Razines, Domaine de la Garrelière is an oasis of winemaking tradition where François Plouzeau, who has been committed to biodynamic farming since 1993, cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards without synthetic chemicals. This 100% Cabernet Franc stands out for its meticulous winemaking: the grapes are carefully sorted, destemmed, and macerated for 15 to 20 days before undergoing natural fermentation. Aging in concrete tanks for 6 to 8 months helps preserve the terroir’s integrity.

Our Review of the Cuvée

From the moment it’s opened, this wine reveals a lively nose where notes of blackcurrant and pepper intertwine with a hint of mint. After breathing, it gains in freshness and subtlety. On the palate, it charms with its energy, its slender structure, and its black fruit aromas underscored by spicy nuances. The finish is harmonious and subtle, ending on a crisp, fruity note.

La Garrelière

Loire | France

Domaine de la Garrelière is a family-owned vineyard located in Razines in the Touraine region, run by François and Pascale Plouzeau on a hillside vineyard that enjoys optimal sunlight and a diverse terroir. The estate covers approximately 20 hectares and has been cultivated using biodynamic methods since 1993.

He produces red, white, and rosé wines under the Touraine appellation, using natural winemaking methods with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention. Certain vintages, such as the Sauvignon or the Gamay “Sans Tralala,” showcase the distinctive aromas and freshness of their terroirs.

The wines of La Garrelière are characterized by their frank expression, their balance, and their ability to reflect the character of the limestone soils and the natural viticultural practices employed.
