Located in the Sauternes appellation, 45 km southeast of Bordeaux on the left bank of the Garonne River, Vignobles Philippe Mercadier comprises three estates covering a total area of 47 hectares. Spread across three of the appellation’s five communes, the estates benefit from a wide variety of terroirs, producing wines with complementary profiles that reflect the richness of Sauternes.

The family’s history began in 1940, driven by a deep fascination with these iconic vineyards. The three estates, initially acquired in a state of neglect, were gradually restored thanks to the vision and boldness of Philippe Mercadier. After managing a Premier Cru Classé—which he had purchased from his grandfather—for twenty-five years, he acquired these properties one after another between 1992 and 2001, with the ambition of restoring their full winemaking identity.
