Our opinion on the vintage
Jean Yves Millaire
Domaine Jean-Yves Millaire is a family wine estate located in Fronsac, on the right bank of the Dordogne in Bordeaux, run since 1998 by Jean-Yves Millaire after his grandfather Jean Garnier acquired the first plots in the 1950s. Today, Jean-Yves and his wife Christine cultivate approximately 47 hectares of vines spread across the AOP Canon Fronsac, AOP Fronsac and AOP Bordeaux appellations.
The estate has been farmed organically since 2006 and biodynamically since 2009, with an approach that respects the natural rhythms of the vines and promotes soil health. The vines, planted on clay-limestone slopes, benefit from varied exposures, allowing for plot-by-plot harvesting to ensure optimal ripeness.
The estate's wines, made from classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, or whites like Chenin or Sauvignon, are recognized for their freshness, their clear aromatic expression, and their ability to faithfully reflect the Fronsadais terroir.
