Julien en Billat L'enfant terrible du Sud 2024

Côtes du Jura | Red | 2024

This rare cuvée is a natural blend of the estate's red grape varieties, created following the frosts of 2017 and 2021. Hand-harvested, using indigenous yeasts, and aged for one year in conical wooden vats without added sulfur, the result is an ethereal, finely textured red wine, combining vibrancy, fresh fruit, and a light structure. An elegant and easy-drinking wine, true to the estate's biodynamic philosophy.

Our opinion on the vintage

The wine is pale, almost luminous. On the nose, small red fruits emerge with elegance: strawberry, redcurrant, accompanied by delicate floral notes and a subtle spice. On the palate, the attack is supple, the texture fluid and light, with a delicate grain. The fruit crisps on the tongue, carried by a vibrant acidity that lingers on the palate. The finish, juicy and fruity, makes you want to dive back in immediately. It's a digestible and refined wine, without heaviness, perfect with rabbit with mushrooms or spiced vegetables.

Domaine Jean-François Ganevat

Jura | France

Domaine Ganevat , located in Rotalier in the Jura region, embodies one of the most unique and accomplished expressions of the Jura vineyards. Run by Jean-François Ganevat, the estate is based on meticulous work on family plots , often planted with old vines , cultivated according to demanding organic principles and close to biodynamics.

Here, each vine is cultivated as an individual entity. The soils, primarily composed of marl, limestone scree, and clay, are tilled and maintained to preserve their life and natural balance. Yields are intentionally low, in order to concentrate the expression of the grape and the terroir, without artifice.

In the cellar, the philosophy is the same: minimal intervention, maximum precision . Fermentation occurs naturally, and aging is long, often in old barrels or neutral containers, so as never to mask the ... Lire plus
