Musemé Extra Brut 2018

Vin de France | White | 2018

Chenin Blanc is showcased in this unique cuvée. The 30-year-old vines, cultivated in grey schist soil, yield exceptional juice. Hand-harvesting ensures a meticulous harvest, while pneumatic pressing preserves the delicate flavors. Natural secondary fermentation after bottling, followed by five years of aging on lees, refines the aromatic complexity. This painstaking work results in fine bubbles and a captivating texture.

Our opinion on the vintage

Visually, this wine displays a golden hue enhanced by fine bubbles. The powerful nose reveals aromas of candied quince and freshly baked tarte tatin, providing a warm and inviting sensation. On the palate, the texture is fine and taut, with a vinous intensity marked by the seductive presence of quince. The crackling bubbles awaken the taste buds, offering an unforgettable tasting experience. The finish, typical of Chenin Blanc, elegantly blends bitterness and astringency, making each tasting memorable. A true delight for lovers of this grape variety.

Domaine Les Grandes Vignes

Languedoc | France

In Anjou, the Vaillant family has been running Domaine Les Grandes Vignes biodynamically for many years. The vineyard is mainly planted with Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, emblematic grape varieties of the region, cultivated with constant attention to soil balance and vine vitality.

The plots surrounding Thouarcé present varied profiles, which the estate interprets through precise winemaking, sometimes without the addition of sulfur. The white wines develop a natural character and measured tension, where the fruit retains a restrained and legible expression. The reds favor supple structures and a fluid texture, resulting from controlled extraction.

The winemaking process is carried out with restraint, aiming to preserve the direct expression of the terroir and the clarity of the wines' profiles. The estate's work as a whole is distinguished by great consistency, producing wines faithful to their origin and consistent in their expression across vintages.
