Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, the Maxime cuvée reveals deep aromas reminiscent of the Languedoc garrigue. On the palate, it presents a velvety texture, enhanced by an admirably balanced structure. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, making the wine very enjoyable now. This Mourvèdre will delight with its complexity and its ability to evolve over time. To be savored with meat dishes such as leg of lamb or duck with olives, this wine will also beautifully complement flavorful porcini mushrooms or a morel sauce after a few years of aging.

Syrah dominates here without overpowering the other elements: in Minervois, Michel Escande has patiently crafted a style that is ample yet never heavy-handed. The old vines, rooted in the limestone slopes, yield wines with a tight structure, consistent depth, and unexpected freshness. Extended aging refines the contours while preserving a natural spicy character. In short, the estate embodies a certain Languedoc classicism, but a living, thoughtful classicism, focused on precision rather than raw power.
