Our opinion on the vintage
Les Galets
EARL Les Galets operates Domaine Les Aphillanthes, located in Travaillan (84850), in the Rhône Valley. The estate produces wines under the Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu, Rasteau, and other Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations, using typical southern grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Viognier, Roussanne, and Clairette. The vines have been cultivated without herbicides or synthetic products since 2003, and the vineyards have been certified organic and biodynamic since approximately 2007.
The wine is made with hand-sorted grapes, fermented in vats, and then aged in concrete tanks and barrels, depending on the vintage. The estate aims to extract the best from each plot with long vinification processes that can last up to 35 days of maceration. I haven't been able to find a precise date for the estate's creation prior to this modern information.
