My Conscience
Mas Conscience is the story of an ambitious takeover driven by passion and a desire to do things differently. With their team, the winemakers embarked on the challenge of reviving one of the region's most beautiful vineyards, breathing new life into it without denying the heritage of the place.
Here, winemaking is experienced as a continuous learning process of letting go. Choices are made, observations are made, adjustments are made, but nature always has the final say. The estate progresses without dogma, guided by common sense, experience, and exchanges with those who have known the vine their entire lives. The advice of the elders, sometimes simple but always sound, is an integral part of this collective adventure.
The name Mas Conscience is rooted in a local legend, linked to the village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and the monks who traveled through the region. From village to village, they asked for alms "according to the good conscience" of the inhabitants, often receiving wine or olive oil, transported in jars on the backs of mules. These jars, gradually called "consciences" (consciences), gave their name and symbolism to the estate.
A place steeped in history, now looking towards the future, where the primary aim is to produce sincere wines, reflecting a living terroir and a profoundly collective human adventure.
