This Gamay is hand-harvested to ensure the highest quality berries. Whole-cluster harvesting and malolactic fermentation lend the wine a pleasant roundness. Aged in oak for 10 months, it develops a rich aromatic profile, giving it an elegant and balanced structure. Grown on siliceous-clay soil, this wine offers a pure expression of its terroir while adhering to gentle winemaking practices, with very low sulfite levels.

Our Review of the Cuvée

The initial aroma reveals a complex palette of crisp red fruits, accompanied by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the texture is silky and the tannins are refined, creating a harmonious balance. The aromas develop gradually, revealing delicate woody nuances that reflect the oak aging. A mineral undertone rounds out the profile, adding freshness and length to the finish. This is a wine that delights the senses while remaining pure and approachable.

Domaine Tessier

Loire | France

In Cheverny, Domaine Tessier, led by Philippe Tessier, consistently cultivates the region's emblematic grape varieties: Romorantin, Sauvignon, and Gamay. The vineyard is managed using organic farming practices, with particular attention paid to the quality of the raw material and soil balance.

The winemaking process follows a natural, low-intervention approach, aiming to preserve fruit clarity and precise balance. The white wines favor vertical and taut profiles, driven by consistent acidity and a clear expression of the grape varieties. The reds, meanwhile, are distinguished by their freshness and a very fluid texture, built upon measured extractions.

All the cuvées are characterized by great legibility and marked stylistic coherence. The estate offers a luminous and precise interpretation of Cheverny, now recognized as an essential benchmark for the appellation.
