Puisseguin Saint-Emilion | Red | 2014

This iconic cuvée showcases old Merlot vines, some over 70 years old, blended with Cabernet Franc and Carménère, a historic Bordeaux grape variety. The nose is expressive, marked by aromas of ripe black fruit and gentle spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is rich and generous, with a velvety texture and beautiful fruit intensity. The whole is harmonious, carried by a long and luscious finish with fruity, slightly oaky, and vanilla notes. A wine of character, with excellent aging potential, that will perfectly complement game and flavorful meats.

Our opinion on the vintage

Selected from a single plot of old vines rooted in the clay-limestone soils of Puisseguin, this cuvée embodies a denser, deeper expression of the Bordeaux terroir. The predominantly Merlot grape develops its full richness, supported by Cabernet Franc. The wine displays an intense color, a nose marked by black fruit, licorice, and subtle hints of oak. On the palate, it is generous, with a beautiful structure and a lingering finish. Aged in vats and certified organic, this wine pairs equally well with flavorful dishes or enjoys cellaring.

Château Clarisse

Château Clarisse

Bordeaux | France

At the heart of the clay-limestone plateau of Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, near Saint-Émilion, Château Clarisse embodies a modern and demanding approach to Bordeaux wine. Created by Olivia and Didier Le Calvez, the estate spans 24 hectares across the Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion and Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellations, offering an exceptional terroir where each parcel reveals its unique personality.

The deep soils, enriched with fossilized limestone, act as a natural water reserve and allow the vines to ripen in perfect balance. The plateau, located over 100 meters above sea level, ensures optimal drainage, ideal light exposure, and natural freshness that brings tension and elegance to the grapes.

The vineyard is primarily planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, complemented by Petit Verdot and Carménère, allowing for complex and refined blends. Viticulture is conducted with respect for the environment and biodiversity: hedges, beehives, agroforestry, and a botanical garden accompany the life ... Lire plus
