Our Review of the Cuvée
Château de Lavernette
Located at the crossroads of the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions, Château de Lavernette embodies a rare blend of millennia-old heritage and cutting-edge winemaking. A former seigneury founded in 1596, the estate is now run by Xavier de Boissieu—the thirteenth generation—and his wife Kerrie, an American winemaker who holds the WSET Diploma.
Since 2005, the 13.5-hectare vineyard has been cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming methods, with a level of precision that places Lavernette among the most distinguished producers in the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Their shared journeys through vineyards around the world have imbued the estate with a rare sensibility: wines of aromatic clarity and terroir precision unlike any others.
