Chardonnay Reserva 2023

Casablanca | White | 2023

The grapes for this Chardonnay are carefully harvested at night, preserving their freshness. Pressed whole, the bunches yield a structured juice which, after settling and partial sulfiting, ferments in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. A portion of the wine undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation, imparting a balanced creaminess with a lovely vibrancy. Aged for eight months, this wine is unfined and cross-filtered for maximum purity.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first whiff, this wine reveals intoxicating aromas of tropical fruit underpinned by delicately woody nuances. On the palate, it offers a velvety texture, the result of partial malolactic fermentation. The neutral oak does not overpower the freshness of the Chardonnay, which remains perfectly vibrant thanks to its careful vinification in stainless steel tanks. The whole is harmonious, with a long, slightly creamy yet resolutely refreshing finish. This wine is a fine example of the viticultural quality that the Casablanca Valley can offer, thanks to the expertise of Agustin Huneeus and his visionary approach.

Veramonte

Aconcagua | Chile

Veramonte is a Chilean winery founded in the 1990s in the Casablanca Valley, in western Chile, by Augustín Huneeus, a pioneer who helped bring recognition to this then little-explored wine region. The winery is now part of the González Byass group, a large Spanish family-owned winery, while maintaining its own identity centered on organic and sustainable viticulture.

Veramonte's vineyards cover several hundred hectares, primarily in the Casablanca Valley, known for its cool climate ideal for delicate white and red wines, and in the warmer Colchagua Valley, which is better suited to fuller-bodied reds. The estate has been committed to certified organic farming for over ten years, with a philosophy that values living soils, biodiversity, and environmentally friendly viticulture to produce high-quality grapes.

Veramonte produces a wide range of wines, from crisp whites like Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to elegant reds like Pinot Noir and Carménère, all made using sustainable
