Comme à Cayenne 2022

Saint-Chinian | Red | 2022

Made from hand-harvested grapes, this wine blends Grenache and Carignan, offering a unique character thanks to carefully controlled winemaking methods. The grapes are sorted and then partially crushed before being placed under a CO2 atmosphere. Fermentation occurs without the addition of exogenous yeasts, highlighting the fruit's natural aromatic potential. After meticulous aging on the lees with bâtonnage (lees stirring), the result is a wine that surprises with its freshness and complexity.

Our opinion on the vintage

Upon opening, this wine reveals a deep purple color and a delicate nose dominated by blackberry, candied raspberry, and hints of violet and incense. On the palate, it is round and full, enveloping the palate with its elegant sweetness and a finely velvety texture. The density grows with a notable aromatic freshness, offering an already rich and complex experience. The finish, more earthy, unfolds with intense ripe fruit, enriched with floral and smoky notes, providing a firm and persistent structure.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
