La Remontada 2022

Vin de France | Red | 2022

This blend of Syrah, Carignan, and Grenache exemplifies a meticulous winemaking approach. Carbonic maceration reveals the vibrancy of the fruit and spices, while aging in tanks optimizes aromatic expression. The choices of hand-harvesting and double maceration reflect a quest for complexity and freshness. The varied soils—granitic and schistous—and the age of the vines enhance the typicity of each grape variety before the final blending.

Our opinion on the vintage

Visually, this wine displays a deep, almost translucent garnet color that immediately intrigues. The nose reveals fine and intense aromas of candied red and black fruits, enhanced by resinous, balsamic, and spicy notes. On the palate, the texture is both dense and smooth, with a beautiful tension that lengthens the flavors. Candied and balsamic tones are present, complemented by a persistent freshness. The finish is a crescendo of flavors, with nuances of Morello cherry, stone fruit, and sweet spices, which pair perfectly with grilled meats or spicy dishes.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
