Grenache under my skin 2023

Maury | Red | 2023

The rows of Grenache vines, some over 60 years old, and Syrah, expertly cultivated on the schist soils of Maury, give rise to a meticulously crafted wine. Hand-harvested and entirely destemmed, the grapes undergo an extended three-week maceration. Aging in tanks on fine lees for 12 months enriches an aromatic profile where notes of ripe fruit mingle with elegant floral nuances, supported by delicately textured tannins.

Our opinion on the vintage

Visually, the translucent garnet robe is immediately captivating. On the nose, the enticing aromas of candied raspberry, violet liqueur, and a hint of white pepper invite you to taste. The palate reveals magnificent vibrancy, with a finely velvety texture and exhilarating ripe fruit. Floral notes add delicate complexity, and the sublime finish, with its powdery tannins, offers enchanting flavors of raspberry, incense, and a subtle touch of bay leaf. A refined and memorable tasting experience.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
