Villa des Anges - Petit Verdot 2023

Vin de France | Red | 2023

This wine, made exclusively from the Petit Verdot grape, captivates with its intense color and unique aromatic profile. Produced from vines at least 15 years old, cultivated on clay-siliceous soil under a Mediterranean climate, this wine reveals the full expression of its varietal thanks to meticulous winemaking. Mechanical harvesting, followed by extraction through punch-downs and pump-overs in concrete tanks, ensures beautiful intensity and a well-balanced structure, complemented by aging in concrete tanks.

Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, this wine reveals a seductive aromatic palette with notes of violet, raspberry, and cocoa. On the palate, it offers remarkable richness and structure, while maintaining a welcome freshness. Its texture is silky, elegantly enveloping the palate, and its long finish prolongs the pleasure with nuances of ripe fruit. A perfect match for flavorful dishes such as curries, chili con carne, or tagines, it will masterfully elevate your meals.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
