Piquepoul blanc 2024

Vin de France | White | 2024

Made from Piquepoul grapes, this wine benefits from organic farming practices on clay-siliceous soil. Its vinification relies on direct pressing, slow fermentation at low temperatures, and aging in stainless steel tanks on fine lees. This method allows for the development of complex aromas, in the style of great Champagnes, while ensuring continuous evolution in the bottle thanks to its unfiltered nature.

Our opinion on the vintage

The first visual impression sets the tone: a very pale, brilliant gold color that immediately catches the eye. The nose is captivating, with aromas of lemon zest, fresh apple, almond, and floral sweetness like acacia blossom. On the palate, it's an explosion of freshness, combining a vibrant, invigorating texture with a luscious, pulpy richness reminiscent of white fruits and a delicate touch of anise. The finish is a true delight, with flavors of ripe white fruits, toasted almond, and candied fennel, enhanced by a subtle saline note.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
