Villa des Anges Red Blend Réserve 2022

Vin de France | Red | 2022

Crafted by the talented Jeff Carrel in the Languedoc region, this wine comes from a terroir of clay-limestone alluvium and derives its character from the Mediterranean climate and sea breezes. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, it benefits from meticulous vinification in concrete tanks with extraction by punching down and aging in French oak staves, developing a deep and elegant structure. Sustainable vineyard management ensures a harvest of optimal quality.

Our opinion on the vintage

Upon opening, this wine reveals a deep garnet color with purplish highlights. The nose offers a veritable explosion of candied black and red fruits, subtly mingled with aromas of spice, vanilla, and toast. On the palate, one discovers a round and enveloping texture, dominated by aromas of blackberry cream and black cherry. The freshness of blackcurrant and menthol, characteristic of Cabernet Sauvignon, emerges in the background. The long and flavorful finish showcases notes of chalky tannins accompanied by hints of toast and vanilla, leaving a pleasantly fruity and spicy aftertaste.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
