Vieille Mule 2024

Côtes du Roussillon villages | White | 2024

Made entirely from Maccabeu grapes, this wine comes from old vines cultivated on a unique terroir of black marl and clay-schist scree in the Agly Valley. Sustainable vineyard management with low yields allows for the production of high-quality grapes. Vinification combines manual and mechanical harvesting, followed by direct pressing and innovative nitrogen settling. Aged in tanks, it is carefully filtered to preserve its freshness and finesse.

Our opinion on the vintage

This wine displays a pale, brilliant gold color that immediately catches the eye. The nose reveals delicate aromas, reminiscent of citron and wet stone. On the palate, the texture is round and crisp, with a pleasantly pulpy quality. A slight effervescence provides invigorating freshness, while the finish is lively and long, marked by elegant bitter notes such as grapefruit peel and sage leaf. Its lingering finish leaves saline and spicy notes that awaken the taste buds.

Languedoc | France

A trained oenologist and a true free spirit in Languedoc, Jeff Carrel is one of those winemakers who have profoundly revitalized the image of wines from the South of France. For over twenty-five years, he has been exploring Languedoc terroirs with a simple yet demanding idea: to reveal the best of each grape variety, each plot, without ever masking the wine's identity.

Based in Roussillon, Jeff Carrel works hand in hand with a collective of partner winemakers called Les Amis de Jeff Carrel. Together, they select grapes from carefully chosen terroirs, cultivated with respect for the environment, to produce cuvées that are precise, delicious, and consistently excellent.

His style is distinguished by very expressive wines, driven by fruit, freshness, and balance, far from the heavy reds often associated with the South. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Chardonnay are crafted with finesse to create ... Lire plus
