Thibault Ducroux

Morgon 2023

Morgon | Red | 2023

This wine is a fine example of traditional craftsmanship, made exclusively from Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc grapes, cultivated according to strict organic farming principles. The 40-year-old vines, rooted in granitic soils, benefit from meticulous hand-harvesting. Carbonic maceration of whole bunches and aging on fine lees in concrete tanks for eight months further enhance its natural complexity.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first whiff, this wine reveals deep aromas of cherry and intense dark fruit. The palate is a veritable symphony for fruit lovers, concentrated on juicy cherry and its pit. Its luscious texture makes it an irresistible tasting experience, and each sip carries you away to a deliciously indulgent finish, marked by a remarkable persistence of cherry pit. An experience to savor slowly, to fully appreciate its fruity complexity and enveloping sweetness.

Thibault Ducroux

Beaujolais | France

Thibault Ducroux is a winemaker based in Villié-Morgon in the Beaujolais region, where he works plots undergoing conversion to organic farming to produce "natural" wines that reflect the pure expression of Gamay on granite soils. His approach is inspired by local traditions while allowing the personality of each vintage to shine through.

Thibault Ducroux's wines are crafted using minimalist winemaking techniques, often employing carbonic maceration and indigenous yeasts to preserve the fruit's freshness and the terroir's natural energy. Aging takes place primarily in tanks to maintain a direct and vibrant expression.

Its wines, often from old vines, are characterized by a vivacity and aromatic tension that make them ideal to drink young or to explore over time for those who appreciate authentic and sincere Beaujolais wines.
