Vents contraires 2023

Vin de France | Orange | 2023

This wine is crafted from young Soreli vines, a unique Italian grape variety naturally resistant to diseases, allowing cultivation without additional treatments. Cultivated on clay-sandy soils, the vines are managed organically and pruned short. Vinification is carried out without sulfites, with natural fermentation in concrete vats and gentle extraction by pigeage. After a 15-day maceration, the wine is partially aged in stainless steel tanks and large oak foudres before being bottled in spring, with a light sulfiting.

Our Review of the Cuvée

This wine offers a brilliant coppery hue. The nose is rich and complex, presenting notes of apricot and orange marmalade, mingled with aromas of chestnut honey, dried rose, and spices. On the palate, the wine is distinguished by its roundness and amplitude, with a velvety and slightly tannic texture. Flavors of roasted yellow fruits and candied citrus peel dominate, while a delicate acidity offers a palpable sensation of freshness on the finish. The finish is marked by a powerful tannic chewiness and persistent orange bitters, harmoniously accompanied by soft spicy notes.
