Crémant de Loire Les Quarterons Brut

Crémant de Loire | Blanc | NM

This cuvée is primarily made from Chenin, blended with Chardonnay and a touch of Cabernet Franc. The fully ripened grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted. Each grape variety is vinified separately, allowing each to express its full character. Aging using the traditional method, for 18 to 24 months on racks, refines the blend and ensures remarkable finesse.

Our Review of the Cuvée

On the nose, this wine reveals a beautiful aromatic complexity, with the Chenin expressing its floral and fruity notes, supported by a hint of Chardonnay that adds touches of white fruit. On the palate, the texture is silky and offers a lovely structure, with well-balanced liveliness. Notes of gravel and clay, derived from the specific terroir, add a subtle minerality. Extended aging on slats brings finesse and elegance, offering a lingering and harmonious finish that excites the senses. A true pleasure with every sip!

Located in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, Clos des Quarterons is a family estate rooted in the region for over 180 years. It is currently managed by Xavier Amirault and his wife Agnès, who cultivate approximately 30 hectares of vines within the appellation's strictly defined area.

The vineyard benefits from a particularly favorable environment: a forest to the north protects the plots from cold winds, while south-facing slopes provide consistent sunshine. The soils exhibit significant diversity, blending gravels, tuffeau directly exposed in the limestone, and deeper areas with a predominant clay composition. This geological variety necessitates precise plot-by-plot management.

The estate is managed using organic farming practices, complemented by a progressively integrated biodynamic approach, with particular attention paid to vine observation and soil vitality. Vinifications are conducted plot by plot to preserve the specific characteristics of each terroir.
