Our Review of the Cuvée

With a predominance of Grolleau, this wine will charm you with its delicate aromas of fresh red berries that burst forth as soon as the bottle is opened. On the palate, the velvety texture unfolds with elegance, supported by subtle vegetal notes typical of Cabernet Franc. Carbonic maceration lends an appealing liveliness that enlivens the tasting experience, while aging in concrete tanks preserves the finesse of the flavors.

Domaine Bertrand Galbrun

Languedoc | France

Domaine Bertrand Galbrun is located in Benais, in Touraine, within the Bourgueil appellation. Bertrand Galbrun cultivates his vineyards using biodynamic methods, and the estate has been Demeter-certified since 2015. The winemaker prioritizes terroir, soil care, and meticulous winemaking practices to bring out the full richness of the Cabernet Franc grape.

The vineyards are spread across three municipalities within the appellation (Benais, Bourgueil, and Restigné), offering three distinct types of terroir that give rise to different vintages: Chatrois on sandy soils, Impétueuse on gravel, and La Tempérance on tuffeau. Each wine reflects the freshness, richness, and natural acidity of the grapes.

The estate produces wines that are bold and well-balanced, highlighting the distinctive character and purity of Bourgueil Cabernet Franc, while respecting local traditions and the natural rhythms of the vines.
