Our Review of the Cuvée

This Château Clarisse cuvée perfectly captures the style of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, grown on the clay-limestone slopes of Puisseguin, it combines fruit, freshness, and structure in an accessible and balanced profile. The nose reveals aromas of red and black fruits, accompanied by floral notes and subtle spices. On the palate, the tannins are supple, the structure harmonious, and the finish lingering. An organic wine, carefully crafted, to be served with roasted poultry, slow-cooked dishes, or aged cheeses.

Nestled in the heart of the clay-limestone plateau of Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, near Saint-Émilion, Château Clarisse embodies a modern and demanding approach to Bordeaux wine. Established by Olivia and Didier Le Calvez, the estate spans 24 hectares across the Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion and Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellations, offering an exceptional terroir where each parcel reveals its unique character.

The plateau, situated at an altitude of over 100 meters, ensures optimal drainage, ideal sun exposure, and a natural freshness that imparts tension and elegance to the grapes.

The vineyard is primarily planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, complemented by Petit Verdot and Carménère, allowing for complex and refined blends. Viticulture is conducted with respect for the environment and for ... Read more
