Bourboulenc 2024

Coteaux de Narbonne et Terres de Pérignan | Blanc | 2024

The Bourboulenc from La Clape, grown on clay-siliceous soils with a history of salt marshes, offers a unique experience thanks to its sustainable cultivation practices. These 40-year-old vines are pruned using the Royat method, and a density of approximately 4,000 vines per hectare ensures optimal quality. Vinification begins with gentle pressing and continues with a carefully orchestrated fermentation, divided between tanks and new American oak barrels, followed by aging on the lees.

Our Review of the Cuvée

This 100% Bourboulenc is a sensory delight. From the very first whiff, it charms with its subtle bouquet of white flowers and citrus. On the palate, the texture is silky, revealing a beautiful structure marked by freshness. Aging in American oak barrels imparts a soft, harmonious woody note that enhances the wine’s complexity. The specific characteristics of the La Clape terroir, particularly its saline influences, add depth and a unique mineral dimension to the overall profile.

Château Bouisset

Languedoc | France

On the limestone soils of La Clape, Château Bouisset cultivates Syrah and Mourvèdre with the aim of producing full-bodied yet structured reds. The sea breeze brings a welcome freshness that tightens the juices and lightens the region’s natural power. The wines feature generous black fruit, a spicy structure, and a broad yet disciplined texture. The aging, carefully managed, supports the body without hardening it. A winery that clearly highlights the uniqueness of this windswept Mediterranean plateau.
