Côtes de Gascogne | Blanc | 2023

This wine is made from Gros Manseng, a grape variety grown on hillsides with a terroir rich in clay, silt, and gravel, and an ideal southern exposure. After a carefully selected harvest to ensure perfect ripeness, the grapes undergo pneumatic pressing followed by cold settling. Fermentation is rigorously controlled to fully capture the wine’s freshness and fruity aromas. Aging in stainless steel tanks preserves the wine’s liveliness and balance.

Our Review of the Cuvée

From the very first glance, the bright, pale gold color catches the eye. On the nose, this wine surprises with its subtlety, slowly opening up to reveal aromas of citrus and passion fruit. On the palate, it’s an explosion of freshness, where the liveliness is underscored by a fine, crisp acidity. The texture is reminiscent of lemon pulp, leaving a refreshing impression. The finish is distinguished by citrus notes marked by lovely acidity, subtle bitterness, and a slight astringency, creating an intense and unique sensory experience. This wine is an excellent companion to complement an aperitif, grilled fish, or seafood.

Château du Pouey

South-West | France

Located in the South-West, Château du Pouey is a family estate situated on south and south-east facing slopes, overlooking the Pyrenees mountain range. The vineyard now spans approximately 22 hectares, having started with a much smaller area.

The estate played a pioneering role in introducing grape varieties such as Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng to the region. The vines are managed using sustainable viticulture practices, with particular attention paid to preserving natural balances and ensuring consistent ripeness. The soils, composed of clay and gravel, provide favorable conditions for diverse expressions, depending on the plots and their exposures.

The wines are crafted with a focus on controlled richness and lusciousness, without aiming for standardization. Vinification and aging processes are conducted to preserve the fruit expression and varietal typicity, offering profiles ranging ... Read more
