Pinot blanc Tulipe 2023

Alsace | Blanc | 2023

The Neumeyer estate crafts its wines with meticulous care, blending tradition and innovation. Adopting an organic approach from vineyard to cellar, the focus is on minimalist winemaking that highlights native yeasts and extended aging on the lees. The choice of a southeast-facing slope and marl-limestone soil, combined with meticulous hand-harvesting, ensures the quality and authentic expression of Pinot Blanc.

Winemaking: native yeasts, temperature control, vinification in oak casks, aging on fine lees, then bottled in June 2023.

Our Review of the Cuvée

This Pinot Blanc from the Neumeyer estate captivates from the very first whiff with its aromas of fresh fruit and a subtle floral note. On the palate, the attack is clean and precise, evolving into a creamy texture thanks to aging on fine lees, which lends a lovely smoothness. A delicate minerality provides structure, leading to a long and elegant finish. A true expression of the Alsatian terroir, produced by a dedicated estate that respects its environment.

In Alsace, Domaine Neumeyer is located around Molsheim, as well as in the neighboring communes of Mutzig and Avolsheim. The vineyard is managed according to organic farming principles, with particular attention paid to soil balance and plot-specific expression.

Vineyard management relies on measured practices: natural grassing, shallow soil cultivation, manual harvesting with sorting, and controlled yields. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve the precise balance and aromatic potential of each plot.

In the cellar, winemaking prioritizes minimal intervention. Pressing is gentle, fermentations are conducted with indigenous yeasts, and aging is extended on lees to promote the wines' natural stability and complexity. This approach aims to support the raw material without altering its expression.
