Domaine de Cardon, located in the Côte Chalonnaise, is the result of a collaboration among local wine enthusiasts. Their wines—Les 4 Parcelles, a Chardonnay blend, and Les Gardes, a 100% Pinot Noir—have been awarded silver and gold medals, showcasing their expertise. Cultivating typical Burgundian grape varieties on clay-limestone soils, winemaker Thierry produces authentic single-varietal terroir wines that perfectly express the essence of Burgundy. The Chiroubles, grown at high altitude, offers a rich, complex, and feminine wine that is both intense and aromatic. A must-try for lovers of wines with character.

Our Review of the Cuvée

This Chiroubles red wine has a ruby-red color and offers delicate floral aromas of violet, iris, lily of the valley, and peony. On the palate, it features light tannins and a lovely expression of red fruits, particularly Gamay. Its pleasant texture and freshness make it the perfect wine to pair with fine charcuterie or grilled fish. Ideal for unwinding after work.

The vineyard covers approximately 15 hectares, located primarily within the Mercurey and Mercurey Premier Cru appellations, and features a typical Burgundian blend of grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Aligoté. The plots are mainly planted on clay-limestone soils, characteristic of the region, which promote well-structured balance and a clear expression of the grape varieties. The estate also cultivates Gamay on granitic soils in the Chiroubles area, offering a complementary perspective on the vineyard.

The vineyard is managed with a meticulous, plot-by-plot approach, with particular attention paid to the ripeness of the grapes and ... Read more
