Crémant de Loire Les Quarterons Brut

Crémant de Loire | White | NM

This cuvée is primarily composed of Chenin Blanc, blended with Chardonnay and a touch of Cabernet Franc. The fully ripened grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted. Each grape variety is vinified separately, allowing for optimal expression of its individual character. Aging on lees using traditional methods for 18 to 24 months refines the wine and ensures remarkable finesse.

Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, this wine reveals a beautiful aromatic complexity where Chenin Blanc expresses its floral and fruity notes, supported by a touch of Chardonnay that adds hints of white-fleshed fruit. On the palate, the texture is silky and offers a lovely structure with a well-balanced vivacity. Notes of gravel and clay, derived from the specific terroir, add a subtle minerality. Extended aging on lees brings finesse and elegance, offering a persistent and harmonious finish that delights the senses. A true pleasure with every sip!

Located in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, Clos des Quarterons is a family estate rooted in the region for over 180 years. Today, it is run by Xavier Amirault and his wife Agnès, who cultivate approximately 30 hectares of vines within the strictly delimited area of the appellation.

The vineyard benefits from a particularly favorable environment: a forest to the north protects the plots from cold winds, while the south-facing slopes offer consistent sunshine. The soils are highly diverse, combining gravel, tuffeau outcropping directly into the limestone, and deeper areas predominantly clay. This geological variety necessitates precise plot-by-plot management.

The estate is managed using organic farming methods, complemented by a progressively integrated biodynamic approach, with particular attention paid to vine observation and soil health. Vinification is carried out plot by plot to preserve the specific characteristics of each terroir.

The aging process takes place partly in a cellar carved into the tuffeau
