What is this vineyard?
The land I found is an old vineyard on a Beaujolais hillside. I went to see this vineyard. There was snow that day, and not just a little, but I liked the setting, and I told myself that it must be possible to make good wine. You could say that it was the vineyard that chose me. I started growing vines. I didn't know anything about it, except that my father grew a vine in his garden. I remember that the wasps and bees ate as much as we did.

The wine I produce?
A natural wine, a pleasant wine, and alive. A simple, healthy and natural culture that respects the environment.
A wine of nourishing pleasure.
I vinify mainly in stainless steel tanks. I avoid all inputs, but I do not prohibit myself from adding sulphite in extremely small quantities, and only when absolutely necessary. Nature often does things so well.

growing methods are perfectly compatible with organic farming, and I make a point of honour of it

The conversion period must be respected. Not all the plots have been converted yet.

Permanent grassing ?
I have chosen to run the vineyard with permanent grass cover, which I try to control by mowing. I do not use weedkillers. I don't use insecticides either.
I also consider grazing animals, chickens and sheep. I also try to favour the best adapted plants, strawberries, thyme, pilosella, short herbs, etc. I do some sowing and transplanting. It's still difficult, but it's very nice. It's even very difficult.
When necessary, and as little as possible, I treat the vines against mildew and powdery mildew, with a sulphur- and copper-based organic spray, plus a pine-based adjuvant (to improve the spray's resistance). I'd love to go completely spray-free, but it's tricky at the moment.
In the last three years, I've only done two very light sprays, the last one at the end of June.

Presence of bees on the plotI
took advantage of the space to install bees on the plot, I made a first harvest in 2017, a few kilos of honey

Our story

Vigneron ? Really?
At the beginning, I would have liked to take over an old stone farm, with land around it, to run different complementary workshops, training myself as and when I needed to, and as time allowed. I started a reconversion, and for that I followed a small training course at the chamber of agriculture.
Not having any personal financial means, I started looking for a simple agricultural plot to grow vegetables, small fruits, raise some chickens, and put two beehives. I found a vineyard plot. I took advantage of the space to install bees on the plot, I made a first harvest in 2017, a few kilos of honey. I vinify mainly in stainless steel tanks. I avoid all inputs, without however forbidding myself from adding sulphite in extremely small quantities, and only when absolutely necessary. Nature often does things so well.

Other little stories

When I visited this plot, for the first time, it was winter, the hillside was covered with snow, it didn't really make me want to, but I immediately felt that this place was full of a beautiful energy conducive to producing a quality wine.

Thank you to all those who by their presence and participation make this adventure possible...
