Vignoble Angst

In 2013, Céline and Antoine created the Domaine Angst in the emblematic Cistercian Abbey of the Yonne. To take up this challenge, they adopt a sustainable agriculture to cultivate their 9 hectares and produce wines that highlight the richness of the Burgundian soil.

Our story

We are Céline and Antoine, two winemakers in Pontigny, Burgundy. We produce and sell a wide range of wines. We offer Chablis, white and rosé Burgundy, Irancy and Crémant de Bourgogne. Our aim is to promote the Burgundy terroir and make it our own. We really want to share this terroir with as many people as possible. The estate is located in Pontigny, in the Yonne region of Burgundy, in the emblematic site of the Cistercian Abbey, a listed monument. The vines are planted in a variety of terroirs between Courgis, Beine, Maligny, Préhy, communes in the Chablis region, and Chitry, part of the Auxerrois vineyards halfway between Chablis and Auxerre. The estate's vineyards are thus spread over several villages. The management of the 9-hectare vineyard is based on a well-thought-out, reasoned approach. All treatments and interventions are monitored by Antoine, who has a wealth of experience thanks to his previous work as a wine technician. We took over the estate in 2013, thanks to the confidence of the previous owners. It was a challenge for us, as we're not descended from a winemaking family! Learning day by day is a great lesson in life. As we like to say to our customers and visitors to the Angst estate: "We're not descended from winemaking families: so here we are writing the first pages of our winegrowing history, that of the first generation of Angst winemakers."
