Château Vieux Mougnac

Anecdotes from the estate: As a winegrower, I work with nature, not against it. It's a tradition passed down through my entire family, and I hope it will continue for a very long time. For us, organic farming isn't a trend, but a way of working the soil, the vines, and the grapes. A little history of the estate: As the fifth generation of winegrowers, I proudly and passionately carry on the tradition. In the long term, we will transition to biodynamic farming. I have a genuine desire to show young winemakers that if you are passionate and choose to get up every morning for a profession that excites you and gives you so much, you must continue and persevere, not give up at the first sign of difficulty. I recently won the 2017 Agricultural Dynamism Award organized by Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre Atlantique. The pride of the estate: Located near Saint-Émilion, Château Vieux Mougnac covers 10 hectares. Since 1870, the estate of the commune of Petit-Palais and Coremps has cultivated its vines with great care. The location provides the vines with an oceanic climate, and the terroirs, with their silty, clay, or sandy soils, are planted with vines over 40 years old and are traditionally plowed—that is, with draft horses. The advantage is that we enhance the value of the product through direct sales; this short supply chain is the best way to support small producers and allow you to discover the authentic flavors of the terroir.
